Name: Senior Airman Octavio Muniz

Unit:  58th Operations Support Squadron

Duty Title:  Air transportation journeyman / transportation rigger

Hometown:  La Habra, Calif.

Goals:  Complete bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

Accomplishments:   As one of 19 parachute riggers in the squadron, Muniz is critical to the 58 SOW's mission to "Train warriors, professionalize Airmen, and employ air power."  Due to his excellent work ethic and unparalleled motivation he has personally rigged 21 heavy equipment loads, which enabled the graduation of 272 AFSOC and ACC students this year. He's one of the lead riggers to safeguard $195,000 in training assets, supporting 1,308 aerial delivery loads and 1,015 training missions. Muniz's selfless contributions to the community are ever-present throughout his continued work with Kirtland Against Drunk Driving, and the base aircraft static display heritage preservation.
