Carlisle Gate to close for construction in January

Starting Jan. 4, the Carlisle Gate will be closed for about four weeks for construction of necessary force protection improvements.

The closure will largely affect personnel on the west side of the base.

Minor construction might continue after the gate reopens. It would be done during routine closure times and shouldn't impact gate operation.

The traffic light at Aberdeen Avenue and Truman Street was adjusted Dec. 2, so that if a vehicle is present, it delays the east-west traffic lights turning yellow. Civil engineering and security forces will monitor traffic and adjust as necessary and/or post a security
forces member at the intersection.

During construction, security forces personnel normally assigned to the Carlisle Gate will work at the Truman Gate to smooth out traffic.

Notices will be given to personnel entering the Carlisle gate no later than 10 days before the closure and will provide information about schedule changes as needed.
