KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- The continued development of MaxQ@Kirtland, a project made possible through an Enhanced Use Lease agreement, marks a significant step in Kirtland Air Force Base’s commitment to driving local economic growth and strengthening community ties.
The EUL agreement allows the Air Force to lease underutilized land to private developers for commercial purposes, opening the door to long-term value for both Kirtla
nd and the surrounding Albuquerque area.
The first retail business to open under this initiative is the Kirtland Credit Union, which recently celebrated its grand opening just outside the base along Gibson Boulevard. While the new branch provides added convenience for Airmen, Department of Defense personnel, and civilians, its opening also signals the beginning of a broader transformation.
MaxQ@Kirtland is envisioned as a mixed-use development featuring retail, hospitality, and office space and contribute to Albuquerque’s growing economy.
The EUL-driven project highlights how partnerships can deliver meaningful benefits to both military installations and their neighboring communities.
