One Airman Dead and another hospitalized outside Kirtland: Release 3
KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. – An incident at the Kirtland Air Force Base Truman Gate led to an off-base pursuit that resulted in an Airman being injured and another killed.
The Air Force Office of Special Investigations in coordination with the FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are investigating this incident. There is currently no threat to the public.

One Airman Dead and another hospitalized outside Kirtland: Release 2
KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. – Security Forces members assigned to the 377th Security Forces Squadron responded to an incident at approximately 2 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 22 resulting in a shooting incident. One Airman received a nonfatal gunshot wound to the hand and was transported to UNM Medical Center for treatment. He has since been released with no life-threatening injuries.
The other Airman was found dead at the scene. The cause of death and the incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
Kirtland Truman Gate Pass office remains closed until further notice.
More information will be released as it becomes available.

One Airman Dead and another hospitalized outside Kirtland: Release 1
KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. – Security Forces members assigned to the 377th Security Forces Squadron responded to an incident at approximately 2 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 22 resulting in the loss of one military member and the hospitalization of another.
The incident occurred off the installation near Truman entrance and is under investigation by local authorities. We will provide updates as appropriate.
