The 377th Medical Group passed last week's Health Services Inspection with flying colors, earning an "Excellent" rating; the second highest score given out this year.

The inspection, conducted by a nine-member team from the Air Force Inspection Agency here, awarded the group 90 points out of 100 for fulfilling the health care needs of our military members and dependents, while providing excellent support to the installation.

The Health Services Inspection is conducted to assess readiness, provide an independent assessment of medical care, identify instances of fraud, waste or abuse, and evaluate and report on the effectiveness and efficiency of medical management.

In their final report, the inspection team lauded the 377th MDG for improving efficiencies between the Department of Defense and Veterans Association, increasing morale throughout the entire staff, and committing themselves to maximizing wing readiness and community wellness.

"I have been a part of a lot of good organizations, but I have never seen a place/inspection that required everyone, including the youngest Airman tucked into the farthest corner, to step up to pull off a united goal," wrote Col. Joanne McPherson in an e-mail to the medical group staff. "Your work, and your pride in it, showed the entire week."

The Health Services Inspection is conducted every three years, dependent upon the organization's previous score. Lower scores are re-evaluated prior to the three-year mark. The 377th MDG earned a "Satisfactory" on their last inspection with a score of 83.
