Air Force Services Agency has issued its "camp call" for 2011. Teenage dependents of the following categories of Airmen are eligible to apply: active-duty military assigned to or living on an Air Force base or joint installation; retired Air Force; civilian Air Force employees; and activated Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard Airmen.

The three available options are Teen Aviation Camp, June 4-9 at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.; Teen Leadership Camp, July 11-15 at the University of Texas at San Antonio; and Space Camp, July 25-30 at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, Huntsville, Ala.

For all camps, lodging, meals and program costs will be centrally funded at no cost to participants or their installations. However, airline tickets or personally owned vehicle travel costs to each camp are the responsibility of individual attendees or their installations.

Each camp has different eligibility criteria and requires a separate application. For the Teen Aviation Camp and Teen Leadership Camp, applicants must be have completed their freshman year of high school; for Space Camp, they must be ages 12 through 18.

Selected applicants may only participate in one camp.

Kirtland AFB applicants must complete the Summer Camp Nomination Registration Form and submit the package to the base Youth Programs Office.

Local due dates for applications are as follows: Teen Aviation Camp - March 30; for both Teen Leadership Camp and Space Camp - April 6.

Robert Bailey, Teen Program Director at the Kirtland AFB Youth Center, is the base's point of contact for these teen camps. Potential applicants can reach him by phone at 853-5437 or e-mail at robert.bailey@kirtland.af.mil.

Mr. Bailey or another Kirtland AFB Teen Program official will interview Kirtland AFB active-duty dependent teen applicants using the "Verification of Eligibility & Interview" section of the Summer Camp Nomination/Registration Form.

Air Force Reserve applicants will undergo phone interviews with Ms. Brandi Mullins at DSN 497-2090; Air National Guard applicants will interview with Ms. Sandra Mason at DSN 278-8138.
