AFNWC intern earns ASMC award Published May 12, 2011 By Danny Monahan 377th Air Base Wing Public Affairs Kirtland Air Force Base -- A Team Kirtland member was recently named the 2010 American Society of Military Comptrollers Distinguished Intern. Kevin McFarland is employed through the Student Career Experience Program as an Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center Financial Analyst. The ASMC is a non-profit organization comprised of military and civilian comptrollers. The ASMC recognized Mr. McFarland's efforts because in 2010 he executed funds in excess of $4 million, including $1.2 million year-end fallout funding, which enabled completion of building renovation and equipment for the AFNWC Sustainment and Integration Center. While studying for a master's degree at New Mexico Highlands University, Mr. McFarland also found time to visit an orphanage twice a month to help organize and conduct events.
