Youth Center hosts annual book fair

Kirtland Air Force Base --  The annual Scholastic Book Fair will begin Monday at the Kirtland AFB Youth Center.

The five-day event's schedule will be as follows -- 4 to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday; and 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

"The book fair is held every February to promote literacy," said Camille Ozores, event coordinator.

Books for children in Kindergarten through eighth grade will be available, as well as pencils, erasers, bookmarks and other small school supplies, Ozores said.

Each sale earns the buyer a number of points which can be used to "purchase" books at the Youth Center.
