AFRL employee recognized as 'Rookie of the Year' Published June 4, 2012 By Jeanne Dailey Air Force Research Laboratory KIRTLAND AFB, N.M. -- An Air Force Research Laboratory employee recently received the Federal Laboratory Consortium's "Rookie of the Year" award. Holly Victorson serves in the Office of Research and Technology Applications for AFRL's Directed Energy and Space Vehicles directorates at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. The FLC is a nationwide network of more than 300 federal laboratories and centers. FLC links laboratory technologies and expertise with the marketplace. In the position for less than a year, Victorson was recognized for innovative accomplishments in technology transfer. She expanded the laboratory's Advanced Sciences and Technology Research Institute for Astrodynamics educational program, which consists of 15 university partnerships, spanning four AFRL organizations. She also established a new partnership agreement between AFRL and the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, enabling experts from across industry, government and academia to work together on a technical problem. In addition, Victorson developed several options presented to the legal community, allowing AFRL's La Luz Academy to continue performing kindergarten through 12th-grade science, technology, engineering and mathematics outreach activities.
