White House director visits La Luz Academy
KIRTLAND AFB, N.M. -- Dr. John P. Holdren, director, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and assistant to the president for science and technology, visited the Air Force Research Laboratory's La Luz Academy at Kirtland Air Force Base on June 7. La Luz Academy is an education outreach program for students in grades 5-12, with the goal of increasing their interest in pursuing science, technology, engineering and math-related studies and career paths. The program focuses on applications of the basic STEM concepts behind the technologies AFRL's Directed Energy and Space Vehicles Directorates develop.
