Automated civilian pay system to replace paper timecards Published June 14, 2013 By 377th Air Base Wing Public Affairs KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Paper time cards recording Air Force civilian employee attendance will soon be replaced by a computer-based application. A new automated time, attendance and production system, or ATAAPS, will be coming on line July 14. Employees will be able to use ATAAPS to record their time daily or all at once per pay period. ATAAPS is an Air Force-wide program designed to prepare audit readiness, as well as financial readiness, across the Air Force. It has been deployed in waves, and is already in use at several Air Force sites In order to ensure a smooth transition at Kirtland, the 377th Comptroller Squadron will conduct information and training briefings for all timekeepers, certifiers, and civilian employees. Timekeepers will be contacted personally by civilian pay to schedule training. Training for certifiers and employees will be June 25 and 27 at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the base theater. According to 2nd Lt. Drew Lindley, 377th CPTS financial services officer, the new system will "enhance time and attendance accountability for all civilian employees." Under the new pay system, civilian employees will be able to input their own time and attendance from their desktop computer and route it to their certifying official.
