Team Kirtland welcomes Col. Stansell Published June 17, 2013 By 377th Air Base Wing Public Affairs KIRTLAND AFB, N.M. -- Team Kirtland welcomes Col. Clifford B. Stansell as the vice commander of the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center. Before being assigned to Kirtland AFB, the colonel served as Deputy Director, Logistics, Installations, and Mission Support for Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale AFB, La. In this capacity, he ensured the readiness of Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles, B-2 and B-52 bombers, and UH-1 helicopters. He entered the Air Force in 1984, serving more than three years as a jet engine mechanic. After his commissioning as a distinguished graduate of Officer Training School in 1988, he held various positions, including command at the squadron and group levels, duties as an ICBM launch officer, service in multiple fighter/bomber maintenance positions, and duty on both the Air Staff and Joint Staff.
