Kirtland Air Force Base has released the Consumer Confidence Report for 2012, an annual summary of drinking water quality delivered by Kirtland AFB during calendar year 2012. The report will help base residents and employees better understand and have confidence in their drinking water supply. Kirtland AFB is fortunate to have an excellent groundwater source and to have the distribution system monitored and maintained in top condition.

Under the "Consumer Confidence Reporting Rule" of the federal Safe Drinking Water Act, community water systems must report water quality information to the consuming public. As required by regulations, results reported in 2013 are based on samples collected and analyzed in 2012.

The report details where the water comes from, what it contains, and the health risks water testing and treatment are designed to prevent.
