Outdoor Recreation hosted an open house here, Dec. 19, 2018.

The event provided an opportunity for people around base to familiarize themselves with the new location and see what it has to offer, as most everything on display was available for rent.

“This is a great way for people to come and see what we have to offer,” said Joni Van Meir. “At the old location, there were so many things in storage. If you knew we had them, we could bring it out for you. Now, we have so much on display that we really want anyone who’s not really come here before to come and see how we can fit into their plans.”

On display was a variety of games and inflatables, including a brand new inflatable bar at the entrance to the event.

A lighted path around the facility showcased the offerings of Outdoor Recreation, and provided plenty of opportunities for photos, including a visit from Santa Claus himself.

Inflatables and games were not the only thing available to visitors, however. An assortment of pies and cookies were available to patrons. The Boulder Lab, Outdoor Recreation’s rock climbing wall, was also open and free to use for the duration of the event.

The 377th Force Support Squadron hopes to use the large spaces of the Outdoor Recreation facility as a consolidated location for Arts and Crafts, Outdoor Recreation and Entertainment in the future.
