Hearts Apart is sponsored by Kirtland Military and Family Readiness Center, for military, Department of Defense civilians and family members who are, will be or have been separated because of military commitments (deployments, temporary duties, remote tours).
Services offered include on-base and off-base resource information, personal support, and group activities.
If you want to receive the latest information on the Hearts Apart Program, base activities, and other pertinent information, you will want to join the e-mail distribution group call 846-0741.
Information on eligibility for these programs is provided during deployment briefings or by calling the MFRC at 846-0741.
Monthly Hearts Apart Support Group
The Hearts Apart support group partners with the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) to host monthly events, depending on budget and eligible members. The location depends on the Hearts Apart activities. This is a great opportunity for spouses and their children to enjoy good food, relax, enjoy the conversation and company of others. Red Cross counselors are available for support.
Give Parents a Break Program
Air Force families undergoing stressful times may be referred by first sergeants or a base "helping" agency to take their children (12 and under) to the Child Development Center for a 4-hour "break." This is sponsored by the Air Force Aid Society.
For more information on the Hearts Apart services, call the M&FRC at 846-0741.
