On the first Sunday of each month the Mountain View Club offers a Champagne/Mimosa Brunch with a wide variety of fresh breakfast items and entree items. Call 846-5165 for more information.

Golf Course Snack Bar
The Tijeras Arroyo Golf Course snack bar is open Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in Building 28054.

Kirtland Idol
The preliminaries began on March 30 and the last preliminary will be April 20 in the Mountain View Club. After the preliminaries, the final competition will be April 27. Whether performing or watching everyone will have a great time. For more details on entering as a contestant call 846-0113.

Report of survey reminder
Reports of Survey must be initiated within 15 days of the loss, damage or destruction of government property being discovered per AFMAN 23-220, Chapter 5 and KAFB Sup 1. Additional guidelines for determining when a ROS is required are dictated by AFMAN 23-220, Chapter 3. KOSC April Bingo BBQ
Kirtland Officers' Spouses' Club Summer Fun Bingo will be April 24 at the Mountain View Club. Put on your favorite summer outfit and come enjoy a "summer" night out. Social hour begins at 6 p.m., BBQ served at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $12 for members and $14 for nonmembers. To RSVP call 298-2843 by noon Thursday. Predeployment Briefings
Available on a walk-in basis at the Airman and Family Readiness Center every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m., or by appointment for special needs. Family members are encouraged to attend and to sign up for the Hearts Apart Program.

Arts, Crafts & Hobbies

Beginning Welding
Mondays from 5-9 p.m. The cost is $25 a student. Requires at least three students and a max of five students for class to commence. Call 846-1104.

Beat the Heat
Now is the time to service your air conditioner at the auto hobby shop. A team of mechanics can help or you can do it yourself. Available for use: 16 bay facility, motorcycle lifts, minor repair service and a four bay self-service car wash.

Arts and Crafts Classes
Classes are held at the arts and crafts center on the southeast corner of Wyoming and F Avenue. Call the arts and craft center at 853-3004 to reserve your spot.

Opportunities

Air Force Reserve

Field Day Volunteers Needed

Contractor's Expo

Thrift Shop
The shop is located on the corner of F Street and Texas Street. Hours are Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The thrift shop is closed on Tuesdays and all federal holidays. Learn To Fly
The Kirtland Flight Training Center offers ground and flight instruction programs for private, commercial and instrument ratings as well as certified flight instructor.

Education

CCAF Graduation
The Community College of the Air Force graduation will be held on May 8 at 2 p.m. in the Mountain View Club. If you have not been contacted and would like to participate in the ceremony, call 846-1730. Reception and buffet will follow the graduation ceremony.

Kindergarten Registration
Sandia Base Elementary kindergarten registration for 2007-08 will be April 23-27 from 9-11 a.m. in the school's library. First, check in at the school's office. Students must be 5 years old before Sept. 1. Bring the following: birth certificate, current shot records, emergency contact information and proof of residency such as a lease contract, utility bill or military housing orders. Out-of -district kindergarten students must have their approved transfers in order to register.

ROTC scholarship briefing for high school students
Representatives from the Air Force ROTC Detachment 510 at The University of New Mexico will be here to hold a scholarship briefing for high school students and their parents at the Rio Grande Conference Center, April 25, 6 p.m. A light dinner will be provided. Family Advocacy
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.

This year's theme is child safety, with a focus on safety in and around cars.

Parents' Night Out

Return Home Care Program
Receive 16 hours of free child care per child for children ages 12 and under, when returning home after 30 days or more in direct support of Operation Enduring Freedom and the Global War on Terrorism; must use within 30 days of return. Call 846-1802.

New parent Support Program

Youth Employment Skills

Certification Workshop
Primary Group Exercise Certification

For group exercise instructors who are prepared to take the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America Primary Group Exercise Certification exam, this course is a review of AFAA's Basic Exercise Standards and Guidelines, anatomy, exercise science, exercise evaluation and exam criteria.
