Local families of military men and women who died while serving their country during the past year were honored May 30 at a Memorial Day ceremony at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial Park. A brick memorializing each of the fallen was given to each family and will be permanently placed at the park’s memorial. Also presented to the families was a plaque from the Purple Heart Association and a quilt from the Jemez Mountain Quilting Guild.
