The 377th Air Base Wing has a significant opportunity in front of it with the Defense Nuclear Surety Inspection team arriving next week. The team will consist of more than 160 members who will evaluate hundreds of processes, programs and operations to validate that we perform the mission in a safe, secure and effective manner.

As a team, we are ready. With only days until the inspection begins, you may be asking yourself, "What do I do individually to prepare?"

The answer may surprise you: nothing different than what you do every day. The precision, skill and professionalism you show every day is something that will be evident to the inspectors and isn't something you need to cram for at the last minute. Nuclear surety is about getting our number one priority right and getting it right every single day.

Many years ago, during my first NSI, my Chief said something that still rings true today. Intentions are good, but results count. For the DNSI, the young Airman who is our entry controller, the team chief or team member on an operation, a first responder, or PRP monitors (just to name a few), will display for inspectors how they get results, not just good intentions. I have great confidence in your skill, and now it is time to demonstrate to inspectors the proficiency we know you have.

Show the inspectors you are the superb team of professionals we all know you are, worthy of the special trust and confidence we've placed in you. Thanks for your hard work every day in keeping this nation free.
