Retiree Appreciation Day is Aug. 16 Published Aug. 8, 2008 KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, New Mexico -- Military retirees from throughout New Mexico are invited to the 2008 Military Retiree Appreciation Day Aug. 16, hosted by the 377th Air Base Wing Retiree Affairs Office. Most of the events will be held at the Mountain View Club starting with registration at 7:30 a.m. Events throughout the day include briefings on health affairs from the 377th Medical Group; identification card and personnel system registration; Army and Air Force Exchange Service and Commissary Service. Information will also be available on the New Mexico Veterans Memorial, the Department of Veterans Affairs, legislative issues, tax relief efforts and survivor's annuity pay. The medical group will also conduct cholesterol screening, blood pressure screening, body mass index calculations, osteoporosis screening and personal risk for breast cancer assessment from 8 a.m. to noon in the club. The legal office will be preparing simple wills and powers of attorney from noon-3 p.m. in the legal office, building 20604, 377th ABW headquarters. The Personnel Flight will provide identification card service from noon-2 p.m. in the Consolidated Support Building 20245. The Base Exchange and Commissary will also have special sales on that day.
