Mary Archuleta, a technology transfer specialist with the Air Force Research Laboratory's Space Vehicles Directorate, recently received the Federal Laboratory Consortium's Mid-Continent Outstanding Laboratory Representative of the Year.

She was selected for her contributions to technology transfer and the mission of the Federal Laboratory Consortium. She is a three-year member-at-large on the FLC Executive Board and has been involved with the consortium for the past five years on the Communications Committee.

Ms. Archuleta has also been involved in the training program for Beginner's, Intermediate, and Advanced Technology Transfer Specialists at the national FLC Meetings for the past two years.

In addition, Ms. Archuleta works as the marketing manager for the Air Force and New Mexico Tech's Partnership Intermediary. She is responsible for identifying local, state, regional and national organizations involved in small business development and technology transfer, leveraging resources relative to AFRL opportunities.

She provides oversight for all subcontracts within the AFRL Phillips Site that involve marketing and promoting of the site, including both the Directed Energy and Space Vehicles Directorates.

A 14-year lab employee, she previously worked with the New Mexico State Economic Development Department and as the Human Resources Director for the County of Santa Fe.

The FLC Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer recognizes laboratory employees who have accomplished outstanding work in the process of transferring federally-developed technology to the marketplace. A panel of experts from industry, state and local government, academia and the federal laboratory system judge the nominations.
