Looking forward to hosting inspectors

Dec. 8 begins the Air Force Materiel Command's Unit Compliance Inspection of the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center. The inspection will continue through Dec. 15. 

"The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center welcomes the Air Force Materiel Command Inspector General team and is proud to showcase the top professionals of the 377th Air Base Wing and 498th Armament Systems Wing," AFNWC Commander Brig. Gen. Everett H. Thomas said. 

The center comprises two wings and one direct reporting group; the 498th Armament Systems Wing and the 377th Air Base Wing both at Kirtland AFB and the 526th Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Support Group, Hill AFB, Utah. 

The AFNWC is responsible for the entire scope of the Air Force's nuclear weapons support functions and is made up of units at Kirtland AFB; Tinker AFB, Okla.; Ramstein Air Base, Germany; Hill AFB, Utah; and Lackland AFB, Texas.
