Guidelines for dealing with suspicious items

If you do not act appropriately when confronted with a suspicious package or other item, you could endanger yourself or others with improper initial actions.

If you should come across a suspicious item, please use the following guidelines:

· Stay calm

· Do not touch it

· Remove yourself at least 25 feet away from it

· Call 911 or the Law Enforcement Desk at 846-7913 or 846-7151

· Provide your name, a brief description of the suspicious item including location, size, color, and any other pertinent details

· Stay in the area and follow directions from emergency personnel
