2010 successful Published Dec. 17, 2010 By Col. Robert L. Maness 377th Air Base Wing commander Kirtland Air Force Base, NM -- As we come to the end of 2010 and reflect on the many successes the base, and particularly, the 377th has enjoyed, it would be difficult not to think about the hard work and dedication of so many who helped get us where we are today. Since my arrival in April, we have witnessed many changes in our operational culture and have hosted various distinguished visitors and events. The President, Vice President, the Chief of Staff and the Secretary of the Air Force, and numerous three- and four-star commanders from across the services, just to name a few. All the work and dedication by everyone to support these events came to fruition last week, as we hosted the year's most important visitors - the inspector general teams from three different inspection agencies and more than 100 inspectors. As always, you rose to the occasion, showing the inspectors what you do best -- conducting safe, secure, reliable and world-class nuclear operations. Inspections are a challenge to us all -- and yet, despite everything else we support at Kirtland, you exceeded expectations and made everyone proud. As we enter the holiday season, take a step back and think about what you have accomplished, and know the effects of what you do go far beyond Kirtland Air Force Base. 2011 will bring new challenges, and based on what I have witnessed, I know you will face the challenges ahead with the same determination and success you showed during the inspection. I am proud to serve with you on this world-class team. Candy and I hope each a of you have a safe and happy holiday season.
