Caring for people forum set for May 24 Published May 12, 2011 Kirtland Air Force Base -- All Air Force installations will conduct a one-day "Caring for People Forum" to allow Airmen and families to voice concerns and suggestions on Air Force policy and support services. The Kirtland CFP Forum is scheduled for May 24, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Mountain View Club. The point of contact is looking for a diverse representation of more than 100 participants who will be assigned into working groups of 10-12 people, and be tasked with making recommendations for improvement in areas ranging from school support and special needs to base housing and deployments. Airman and Family Readiness Services is looking for a cross-section of the Kirtland Air Force Base community, including active-duty, Reserve, Guard, officers, enlisted, civilians, family members and retirees. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz called the CFP Forum "... absolutely vital and essential to the success of our Air Force as a national security institution and as a very diverse family, in common cause." Participants will be responsible for determining concerns that cannot be resolved at the installation. These concerns will be presented to participants at the conclusion of the forum, with the installation commander elevating the top concerns to Air Force Material Command. Those issues will be integrated into a presentation for the National CFP conference July 19 in Washington, D.C.
