Microsoft home use program to cease Published Oct. 21, 2011 By Stefan Bocchino 377th Air Base Wing Kirtland Air Force Base -- The Microsoft home use program will not be available after Nov. 1 for government employee purchases of Microsoft Office products. "The program enabled government employees and contractors the ability to purchase Microsoft Office products for $9.95," said Kevin Crupper, Information Assurance manager. "These products cost more than $100. The Air Force enterprise contract is up and the decision has been made not to renew it. The contract will no longer qualify for the home use program." The last day people will be able to purchase the program is Oct. 31, said Crupper. "We've received many questions from people about whether they will be able to use the program on their computers after Nov. 1," said Crupper. "The answer is yes, you can continue to use it as long as you own that system."
