Area Memorial Day events announced

Kirtland Air Force Base --  The Albuquerque community will mark the Memorial Day weekend with multiple events.

The Albuquerque Isotopes baseball team military appreciation nights will be May 26 and 27. Games start at 7:05 and 6:05 p.m., respectively, followed by fireworks.

Tickets are $8 for active-duty military, retirees, veterans, ROTC cadets and family members.

A Memorial Day ceremony will take place May 28 at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial.

A musical prelude will begin at 9 a.m. and the ceremony will start at 10 a.m. Congressman Martin Heinrich is scheduled to be the guest speaker.
