Incoming AFNWC commander nominated for promotion Published Jan. 24, 2013 By 377th Air Base Wing Public Affairs KIRTLAND AFB, N.M. -- Air Force officials announced Jan. 23 that Brig. Gen. Sandra E. Finan, incoming Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center commander at Kirtland Air Force Base, has been nominated by President Barack Obama for promotion to major general. The Senate must confirm the nomination. Finan is currently the Principal Assistant Deputy Administrator for Military Application, Office of Defense Programs, National Nuclear Security Administration, Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. Finan, a 1985 Officer Training School distinguished graduate, has served in a variety of space and missile assignments in missile crew operations; training and evaluations; satellite command and control; and satellite operations. She will assume command of the Center in a ceremony Feb. 7.
