377th Security Forces named best in Air Force Materiel Command Published Feb. 8, 2013 By Adam Bailey Nucleus staff writer KIRTLAND AFB, N.M. -- For the second year in a row, the 377th Security Forces Squadron has received the Air Force Materiel Commands Outstanding Security Forces Unit Award for the medium-size active duty unit. The unit will now compete at the Air Force level. "My Defenders' duty performance, both on-and- off duty, has been simply stellar. They've passed every test and are truly deserving of back-to-back wins as AFMC's finest," said Maj. Joseph Quinn, 377th SFS commander. This is a big achievement for the squadron, since it was only activated in August 2011. During the past year, the unit has led fundraisers, participated in the first ever National "Take Back" initiative, served as guardians during multiple Kirtland AFB events, hosted "National Police Week," and co-led the Prime Nuclear Airlift Force, among other achievements. The squadron also has individuals recognized for being number one in different groups. Some of them include Department of Defense, Air Force Materiel Command, Team Kirtland, 377th Air Base Wing, Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center and 377th Security Forces Group. "I couldn't be more proud and excited for them as they do battle for Air Force honor," said Quinn.
