The week of events begins with an exhibit fair and bingo at the Youth Center Gym May 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. The fair will include fun, food, games and prizes. There will also be organizations providing information and resources.

May 8 there will be a fun and fitness fair at Marquez Park from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be an evening full of Zumba, a fun run/walk, a healthy dinner, a wine tasting and prizes.

The following day will be a morning of pampering at the Youth Center Gym from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be massages, manicures, pedicures and beauty tips offered. There will also be booths to shop at and local spa and beauty vendors demonstrating products.

Spouses Appreciation Week will close out the week with a home-based business workshop May 10 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Guest speaker Christine Durst will provide tips and skills on starting a career working at home.

"I really encourage everybody to attend all the events and show their appreciation to military spouses," Perkins said.
