KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- The 377th Medical Group’s Heath Promotion Flight is hosting an opportunity for military, civilians, retirees and their families to learn how to make healthier choices, and compete while doing it, starting Feb. 22, 2019.
“The 90 Day Challenge is 90 days of making healthier choices,” said Kirsten David, Health Promotion Flight registered dietician. “Different classes and challenges offer chances for participants to earn points. The goal is for the competitors to adopt heathy choices they learned for the rest of their life.”
The competition-style event gives participants extra motivation to both succeed and stick with the program.
“The breadth of topics covered during the challenge is impressive,” said Lt. Col. Dennis Rand, winner of last year’s event. “The twin factors of a supportive social group and the desire to win a competition are very motivating and will help you stay on track.”
Telling friends and coworkers can also help with sticking to the challenge for 90 days, said David.
The three men and women with the most points at the end of the challenge will be crowned the winners, and presented with prizes.
