The immediate security concerns prompting the gate operation changes this past week have been resolved and the entrance gates at Kirtland Air Force Base will return to normal operations beginning Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Additionally, the installation is returning to the Trusted Traveler entrance identification program in place prior to the implementation of 100% ID checks this past week.

Further security-related upgrades can be expected at the Wyoming Gate in the coming weeks. We will be working closely with Albuquerque Schools, ABQ Ride and others to ensure all parties are fully aware of the impact those upgrades will have on Team Kirtland and our neighbors .

The safety and security of those who live and work at Kirtland are always our top concern, and we recognize the inconvenience the implementation of enhanced security measures can cause and ask for your understanding.
