Colonel COLONEL DAVID J. WYRICK

Colonel David J. Wyrick enlisted in the United States Air Force as an Airman Basic in 1992. His operational assignments included Elmendorf AFB, Alaska and Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. At the rank of Staff Sergeant, he was accepted to Officer Training School and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, in 2001.

Following graduation from Minuteman III Initial Qualification Training, he was assigned to Minot AFB, ND where he served as an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) combat crew commander in the 741st Missile Squadron. Additionally, he held duties as the Senior Combat Crew Evaluator and the Commander’s Executive Officer in the 91st Operations Group. In 2007, he was selected to serve as an ICBM test officer in the TOP HAND program at the 576th Flight Test Squadron in Vandenberg AFB, CA. In 2009, he attended the Space Weapons Instructor Course and upon graduation, was assigned to the 341st Operations Support Squadron where he served as the first ICBM Weapons Officer for the 341st Missile Wing. He was invited in 2011 to serve as cadre for the ICBM Weapons Instructor Course at the 315th Weapons Squadron in Nellis AFB, NV where he served until 2014 when he was selected to attend Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, KS. While a student at Fort Leavenworth, he participated in the Art of War Scholars Program. Upon graduation he moved to Maxwell AFB, AL to study military strategy at the Air Force School of Advanced Air and Space Studies in Maxwell AFB, AL. Upon graduation, Col Wyrick was again assigned to Minot AFB, ND as the Operations Officer of the 740th Missile Squadron. In 2017, he took command of the 91st Operations Support Squadron at Minot AFB, ND, a unit that supports over 300 Airmen that operate 150 Minuteman III ICBMs at 15 remote missile alert facilities in central North Dakota. In 2020, he received a Masters degree from the Naval War College, where he was selected as an Admiral James Stockdale Fellow in the College of Leadership and Ethics. Following graduation, he was assigned to the Pentagon National Military Command Center, J-36, where he served as a Deputy Division Chief. In 2023, he was assigned to Air Force Global Strike Command at Barksdale AFB, LA as the Chief of Future Operations in the A3/6 Directorate.

Col Wyrick is currently assigned to Kirtland AFB, NM as the Deputy Installation Commander.
