Chief Master Sergeant SHUAN A. KEGIN

CMSgt Shaun Kegin is the Command Chief Master Sergeant at the 58th Special Operations Wing, Kirtland AFB, New Mexico. He is the senior enlisted leader responsible to the commander on all matters concerning the welfare, development, readiness, and effective utilization of 2,288 personnel across three groups assigned to seven installations. The 58th Special Operations Wing conducts undergraduate helicopter pilot training, graduate flying training for Special Operations, Personnel Recovery, and Nuclear Security missions on 6 distinct weapons platforms, as well as Air Force Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) training. Through these distinct and unique training programs, the wing trains over 15,000 students every year.

Chief Kegin entered the Air Force in March 2000 and completed Air Transportation technical training in September 2000. Throughout his career, he has filled various roles in support of Aerial Port, Logistics Readiness, Contingency Response, and Special Operations duties. He has served on multiple deployments supporting contingency missions during Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, ODYSSEY DAWN, UNIFIED PROTECTOR, FREEDOM’S SENTINEL and ALLIES REFUGE. Prior to this assignment, Chief Kegin served as the Senior Enlisted Leader, 435th Contingency Response Group, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
