A Splendid Ceremony

James K. Hopkins holds the 509th Bomb Wing patch and scarf, during a a memorial ceremony for his father, U.S. Lt. Col. James I. Hopkins, at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington D.C., Sept. 30, 2021. Hopkins's father was the pilot on the Big Stink, a B-29 Superfortress, assigned to photograph the atomic bomb mission against Nagasaki.
