On Aug. 12, 2022, the 7th Equipment Maintenance Squadron created “The Master Sgt. James D. All Leadership Award” in honor of the late Master Sgt. James D. All, who was assigned to the 7th EMS and passed away at the age of 34.

This award will be given quarterly to enlisted members (Master Sgt. and below) in the 7th EMS. Nominees must inspire others by personal example and demonstrate the Air Force Core Values, staying calm under pressure, communication skills, creativity and respect to ALL. They must also demonstrate leadership traits in accomplishing the mission of the 7th EMS, leadership in the community, service to the local area, and go above and beyond what is expected of them. The first to receive this award was Staff Sgt. Harold Anderson, 7th EMS aircraft metals technician floor lead.

"Winning this award truly means a lot to me; this isn't just any award because of who he was to me," said Staff Sgt. Anderson. "He was the person we could go to for literally anything. He always showed us a different perspective, not just on the job but in our personal lives. He would do his best to help us no matter the circumstances."

Before his passing on July 9, 2021, Master Sgt. All had given everything to positively impact the people around him. His ability to be a humble leader, who encouraged his Airmen and took the time to turn “mistakes” into teaching moments left a lasting impression.

"He taught to make a difference in someone's life, and now that he's gone, I've started to think about what he represents so I can lead by his example; taking care of my people," said Anderson.

Master Sgt. All's inspiration, leadership and selflessness never wavered while he battled cancer. “Before he passed, James asked me to tell everyone to never stop learning or working to improve themselves or the lives of those around them,” said Nikole Sprunger All, widow to Master Sgt. All. “Changing that mindset is helpful not just for the military setting, but for everything. Taking the time to help grow and develop others makes this world a better place. Thank you so much to everyone who made this award possible. It really is incredible, and I appreciate it more than you will ever know.”
