Thunderbirds will not take part in Air Show Published June 2, 2016 By Jim Fisher Kirtland Public Affairs KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, New Mexico -- We have just received formal confirmation that the Air Force Thunderbirds demonstration team will not be performing at the Kirtland Air Show, June 4-5. The remaining Air Show performers will continue as scheduled with 17 flying and ground demonstrations, to include the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber flyby, U.S. Navy F-18 Super Hornet fighter demonstration, Vintage Warbirds demonstrations including the P-51 Mustang and several high energy civilian acts. There will also be 39 static displays of vintage and cutting edge military and civilian aircraft. A special operations capabilities demonstration will be performed by the Airmen of Kirtland's 58th Special Operations Wing highlighting their ability to perform special missions and personnel recovery in direct support of air expeditionary forces around the world.
