If couples that had been married for 50 years were asked how they achieved that milestone many would answer that it was a lot of understanding and probably hard work.

The Sept. 15 "Super Charge Your Relationship" seminar by Dr. David Olson focuses on taking relationships to the next level and strengthening the bond in couple relationships.

Dr. Olson is the founder of Life Innovations, Inc., originally named Prepare/Enrich, a company dedicated to preparing couples for marriage and helping couples enrich their relationships.

He also developed a set of personal and relationship inventories known as Prepare/Enrich inventories. Dr. Olson is the past president of the National Council on Family Relations and has written over 20 books on marriage and the family.

The "Super Charge Your Relationship" seminar is Sept. 15 from 9 a.m.-noon in the Student Union Building, ballrooms A and B, at The University of New Mexico.

The cost is $5 for each couple, which includes paid parking and a continental breakfast with the seminar.

The seminar is presented by Healthy Marriages, a program of the Samaritan Counseling Center of Albuquerque and New Mexico Collaborative Partners. The Samaritan Counseling Center of Albuquerque was founded in 1987 to help people deal with depression, grief, anxiety, family problems and other emotional difficulties.

The center is the only nationally accredited faith-based counseling center within the state. The center provides a variety of counseling services including pre-marriage counseling, couple counseling and family mediation.

Although the center is faith based, it serves the entire community and does not impose faith on any of its clients. All staff counselors hold graduate degrees in counseling and are licensed in New Mexico within their respective professions.
