Kirtland Air Force Base, NM -- Members of the Space Development and Test Wing at Kirtland AFB donated school supplies to Kirtland Elementary School as part of the SDTW community outreach and partnership with the school.

With the contributions from SDTW, the school was able to support 150 children this year, a 10 percent increase from the school-supply drive last year.

"I could not be more proud of the generosity showed by the member of SDTW," said Col. Michael Moran, SDTW commander. "We are all blessed in so many ways and it was extremely gratifying to see so many donate to those who are in need. A special thanks goes out to Ms. Karen Elquist of the Space Development Group, who headed up this year's drive. Her dedication to SDTW and the kids at Kirtland Elementary is a great example of our commitment to the greater Kirtland AFB community."

Kirtland Elementary also received donations from two other organizations, which resulted in meeting the supply needs of all the students.
