Caring for people forum calls for participants Published March 21, 2013 By Teresa Reinhard Kirtland AFB Community Support Coordinator KIRTLAND AFB, N.M. -- The next Kirtland AFB Caring for People Forum will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 5 at the Mountain View Club. The event is an opportunity for Airmen and their families to voice concerns or suggestions on Air Force policy and support services. Participants may include Air Force military members, to include Reserve and Guard members, from across the base, single Airmen, family members, families with special needs, Air Force retirees and teens. Topic groups will include: Family readiness and deployment support School (school age children) support Single Airman support Special needs (EFMP) Guard/Reserve support Housing/dorms Spouse support Health and wellness, including the physical, spiritual, mental and social domains Substance abuse and interpersonal relationships Participants will be asked to identify concerns with policy and community support issues and brainstorm possible solutions. They will receive guidance through the process by volunteers who will facilitate each of the nine working groups. Recorders will take notes and subject-matter experts will be available to answer questions in each area. Make your voice heard and positively contribute to the quality of life for military members and their families. The forum results will allow wing commanders the opportunity to create visible improvements in specific areas that affect their communities daily.
