The annual Air Force Assistance Fund (AFAF) campaign was held from March 22 to May 14, 2021, at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico.

With KAFB’s support, more than $27, 811 was raised for the campaign, which supports Airmen, Guardians and their families in need.

U.S. Air Force 2nd Lt. David T. Geddes, AFAF installation project officer, spoke about Team Kirtland’s contributions.

“This is an outstanding achievement by Team Kirtland,” said Geddes. “It was a difficult year for many, so it’s a great feeling knowing that those funds go directly to supporting our own.”

Geddes said that due to the stress of the pandemic on last year’s campaign, funds were limited, but this year the base was successful in donating more money.

“We are lucky to have generous teammates here at Kirtland,” said Geddes.

Team Kirtland raised more than $25,000 more in donations than in 2020.

“I think Team Kirtland had a great showing,” said Master Sgt. Brandon M. Alvarez, AFAF alternate installation project officer. “I’m glad that so many teammates throughout the base made contributions towards a great cause.”
