ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Operation Holiday Cheer volunteers needed

The 42nd annual Operation Holiday Cheer will take place on Dec. 18 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There are three shifts available for volunteers: 11:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 2:45 to 6 p.m., shifts will be serving food, helping kitchen staff or assisting families in line. The 5 to 6 p.m. shift will be assisting with clean-up. Defense Travel System payments delayed

The Air Force Accounting system, DEAMS, recently underwent a transition. This conversion took a little over two weeks two complete and during this time, the system was completely offline. As a result, DTS travel payments that require interface into DEAMS were delayed. These files are being interfaced on a first-in, first-out basis. As of Dec. 2, files dated Nov. 13 and prior have interfaced. If anyone filed a voucher before Nov. 6 and has still not received payment, please call Maria Sierra at 505-846-4448 or e-mail maria_theresa.sierra@us.af.mil

2020 Bataan Memorial Death March

The Bataan Memorial Death March will be held on March 15, at the White Sands Missile Range. Anyone wanting to participate in and train for the 2020 march with a team should’ve contacted Capt. Tullino by December 4. Participants can choose to be part of the heavy division (min. 35 lbs rucksack) or the light division (no weight requirement).

There will be trainings held on Dec. 14 and every Saturday starting Jan. 4, 2020.

Property turn-in

Combat Trafficking in Persons (CTIP)

CTIP is the second largest criminal activity in the world. It is the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons by means of threat, use of force, coercion, abduction, fraud deception, abuse or exploitation. Airmen should report any suspicious behavior that may indicate CTIP activities to their chain of command, Security Forces, AFOSI, or the IG. Requesting Honor Guard services

Requests for color guard ceremonies must be made at least seven days prior to the ceremony. Multiple requests made for the same day and time will honor a “first requested, first served rule,” except in the case of military funeral honors which take precedent over all other requests. Bod Pod appointments

Health Promotion is providing bod pod appointments Mondays and Fridays between 7:30 - 11 a.m. The bod pod is a machine that will assess body composition and assess body fat and lean mass. Appointments are required. To schedule, call Guy Leahy at 505-846-1186 or Kirsten David at 505-846-1483.

Better Body Better Life Class

Health Promotion is hosting a five-class series that takes place every Tuesday from  8 - 9 a.m., in Classroom A at the 377th Medical Group. It is a weight management course for active-duty members only. To RSVP, call 505-846-1483.

Food Pantry

Eligible service members including active-duty, National Guard, Reserves, retirees, DOD civilians, and their family members can go to the food pantry in time of financial hardship for the grocery necessities at no cost to them. The pantry is open from 7:15 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is located in the Consolidated Support Facility, Ste. 126.

Hiring event

The Airman & Family Readiness Flight is hosting an event from 8:30 a.m. to noon in Room 120 of the Consolidated Support Facility. Participants are encouraged to dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their updated resumes. Numerous employers will be present. Capstone Event

The final step in the Transition Assistance Program will be held from 9 - 11 a.m., in Suite 126 of the Consolidated Support Facility. The capstone event is a one-on-one meeting with Airman & Family Readiness Flight staff to verify completion of career readiness standards and should be accomplished no later than 90 days before separation or retirement. All separating and retiring service members on Title 10 orders for 180 or more consecutive days are required to meet the CRS which are verified by A&FRF staff member and documented on the DD Form 2648. Vet Clinic free healthy weight screening and nail trim

The veterinary clinic will be offering free healthy weight and pet nail trims on Dec. 6 from

4 - 6 p.m. and Dec. 7 from 2 - 4 p.m. The facility is located behind the commissary at 950 Pennsylvania St. All animals must be restrained with a leash or carrier. For more information, contact the clinic at 505-846-4276.

Wolf Creek ski trip weekend adventure

Outdoor Recreation is hosting a 3-day trip departing ODR at 2 p.m. on Friday and returning at 8 p.m. on Sunday. The price is $250 for R4R tickets and $485 for regular tickets.  R4R pricing is for active-duty, reservists and their families. Price includes transportation, gear rentals, lift tickets, refreshments, lodging and one meal. There are 14 spaces available. SPORTS AND FITNESS CALENDAR:

Ongoing fitness classes at the East Fitness Center in November

All Terrain

This class formats all terrains, to include team drills and visualization rides, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Mondays, 5:30 - 6:30 a.m. Tuesdays, and 11 a.m. - noon Thursdays.

Power Ride 

Higher resistance training to improve strength, stamina and power, 11 a.m. - noon Tuesdays and 5:30 - 6:30 a.m. Thursdays. 

Basic Training 

A 60-minute functional total body workout - this class will incorporate cardiovascular, strength, endurance, balance, push-ups, core, speed and agility, as well as partner drills. Instructors will push to optimum fitness potential. Classes run from 3 - 4 p.m. Tuesdays, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 3 - 4 p.m. Thursdays.

Muscle Hour

Integrate balance with strength while using the barbells, heavy bars, and dumbbells to sculpt. BOSU and fit balls may be incorporated from time to time. All fitness levels.  Class runs from noon - 1 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays. 

Zumba® and Strong by Zumba® 

Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance and tone program that runs from 5 - 6 p.m. each Wednesday. Strong by Zumba combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio, and plyometric training moves synced to original music and runs from 9 - 10 a.m. Saturdays. 

Yoga Stretch and Strengthening 

A level-1 class combining traditional yoga postures with deep stretching, breathing exercises, and meditation. Great for beginners and the more physically fit, resulting in increased flexibility, strength and stress reduction, running from 5 - 6 p.m. Thursdays.

Yogalates 

Combines the muscle sculpting, core firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga. This fat-burning, low-impact workout is designed for all levels and runs from 5 - 6 p.m. every Tuesday.

Air Force Reserve 

The 377th Force Support Squadron In-Service Recruiting Office provides Palace Front and Palace Chase briefings twice a month at 9 a.m. every second and last Wednesday at the Consolidated Support Building inside the FTAC training Rm. 111. The office is also available to provide information on continuing service in the Reserves for activeduty members transitioning out of the Air Force. For questions, contact Master Sgt. RAPIDS Appointment Scheduler

Skip the long wait for an ID card by scheduling an ID appointment on the RAPIDS Appointment Scheduler. This is a self-service function that allows members to book their own appointment and can be accessed 24/7. Also, if scheduling an appointment and the DEERS network goes down, members will receive a call from the 377th Military Personnel Section customer support staff. In addition to making an appointment, the RAPIDS Appointment Scheduler answers some of the most commonly asked questions to ensure people are prepared for appointments.
