CCAF degree opportunity
CCAF is accepting nominations for Associate of Applied Science degrees. To receive a free CCAF degree progress report, visit the education office located at Building 20602. Bod Pod appointments

Better Body Better Life Class

Mandatory retirement and separation briefings
The Finance office will hold mandatory finance and retirement separation briefings every Friday at 1 p.m. All attendants need two copies of their orders and are required to be in uniform. The briefings will be held in the Consolidated Support Facility, Room 111. The doors will close at 1:15 p.m. For questions, call 505-846-8045.

Food Pantry
Eligible service members including active duty, National Guard, Reserves, retirees, DoD civilians and their family members can go to the food pantry in time of financial hardship for the grocery necessities at no cost to them. The pantry is open from 7:15 a.m. until 4 p.m., and is located in the Consolidated Support Facility, Ste. 126.
 
Request for Air Show volunteers
The Kirtland Air Show committee is looking for Airmen to volunteer in making the Open House a success. From May 16 to 19, Airmen can volunteer for numerous positions needing filled before, during, and after the show.
 
  1. 40 Airmen are needed for air operations and static displays to volunteer as ambassadors for performers and statics to assist with all needs from the time they arrive to the time they leave Kirtland AFB. Dress code is Uniform of the Day and Airmen should be prepared to distribute bottled water and ice during the day. Requirements include flight line access and familiarity with the flight line portions of the airfield. Training will be provided by air operations and hospitality.
  2. 10 Airmen are needed to be hospitality volunteers to assist with airshow DVs, performer party booth, etc. Airmen will assist in distributing water and food to airshow performers. Uniform is the uniform of the day. Training will be provided by Maj. Celia Jarrat and Tech. Sgt. Cami Richards.
  3. 10 Airmen are needed to be protocol volunteers May 18 to assist with USAF DVs, SES’, and local leaders in DV tent with food and drinks, etc… Dress in uniform of the day. Training will be provided by protocol.
  4. 150 security forces volunteers are needed May 18 to be parking lot attendants, traffic controllers, Entry Control Points at flight line, sentry, etc… Duties will be assigned the day of the airshow and will be met by designated SFS personnel. Training will be provided by Security Forces
  5. Four Airmen are needed May 18 to be runners for volunteer forces to provide snacks and water to all volunteers and SFS personnel (outside of the immediate flight line). No training required.

Ongoing fitness classes at the East Fitness Center in March
All Terrain
This class formats all terrains, to include team drills and visualization rides, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, 5:30 to 6:30 a.m. Tuesdays, and 11 a.m., to noon Thursdays.
Power Ride
Higher resistance training to improve strength, stamina and power, 11 a.m. to Noon Tuesdays and 5:30 to 6:30 a.m. Thursdays.
Fitness Conditioning
A 60-minute functional total body workout incorporating cardiovascular, upper body strength, core strength, pushups and sit ups. Everything needed to pass the Air Force Fitness Assessment Test. This class is designed to teach proper push-up and sit-up techniques and build cardiovascular endurance. This class is highly recommended for those on the Fitness Improvement Program and runs from 6 to 7 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
Basic Training
A 60-minute functional total body workout this class will incorporate cardiovascular, strength, endurance, balance, push-ups, core, speed and agility, as well as partner drills. Instructors will push to optimum fitness potential. Classes run from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 3 to 4 p.m. Thursdays.
Muscle Hour
Integrate balance with strength while using the barbells, heavy bars, and dumbbells to sculpt. BOSU and fit balls may be incorporated from time to time. All fitness levels.
Class runs from noon to 1 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
Zumba® and Strong by Zumba®
Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance and tone program that runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday. Strong by Zumba combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training moves synced to original music and runs from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturdays.
Yoga Stretch and Strengthening
A level-1 class combining traditional yoga postures with deep stretching, breathing exercises, and meditation. Great for beginners and the more physically fit, resulting in increased flexibility, strength and stress reduction, running from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursdays.
Yogalates
Combines the muscle sculpting, core firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga. This fat-burning, low-impact workout is designed for all levels and runs from 5 to 6 p.m. every Tuesday.

Kirtland Playgroup
The group meets every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Chapel Annex. The playgroup provides a fun, relaxed place for parents and kids to meet to have fun and make new friends. The playgroup encourages social development and interaction. It is not chapel-sponsored and is not affiliated with any faith or religion. The playgroup is an unstructured play time for infants and toddlers 0-4 years and their parents. Join the group for fun with new friends; no registration is required. The 377th Force Support Squadron In-Service Recruiting Office provides Palace Front and Palace Chase briefings twice a month at 9 a.m., every second and last Wednesday at the Consolidated Support Building inside the FTAC training Rm. 111.
