Ellsworth cold spray team completes first AF organic repair

The cold spray machine is used to repair a B-1B Lancer Forward Equipment Bay panel at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., April 8, 2020. The cold spray machine shoots aluminum at supersonic speeds on the aircraft component and the two metals bond together. This process fills in missing metal and strengthens the damaged area.
