The 7th Security Forces Squadron is scheduled to conduct initial training with Robot Dogs at Dyess Air Force Base today Friday, Aug. 5, 2022.

According to Staff Sgt. Trung Vu, 7th SFS NCO in charge of sensors, the newly procured Ghost Robotics Robot Dogs are expected to bolster base defense and provide early warning detection of potential threats.

Maj. Scott Hlavin, 7th SFS commander, was an advocate for the new technology.

"The addition of automated technology is just one way we are modernizing in order to equip our defenders with force multiplying capabilities to enable rapid find, fix and finish at America's Lift and Strike base,” Maj. Hlavin said.

This initial training will denote the trial phase of robot dogs at the installation.

Improvements in security are a key aspect of Dyess commander's objective to 'Fight from Here,' with regard to base sustainment efforts.

"Increased flightline security capabilities at the installation are a key component of our base modernization initiatives," said Col. Joseph Kramer, 7th Bomb Wing commander. "As we bridge to the future mission of the B-21 at Dyess, Maj. Scott Hlavin and his team's innovative flightline protection measures will ensure our mission today and tomorrow."
