The Bomber Task Force Warrior of the Week for April 18-24 is Airman Jarret Hostler, 2nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron instrument flight control systems journeyman, from Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana.

The BTF Warrior of the Week is a program recognizing and spotlighting the Airmen of BTF-21 for their positive impact and commitment to the mission.

Airman Hostler supports B-52 Stratofortress Bomber operations through maintaining and training Airmen on guidance and control systems. His favorite part of the job is the people he has gotten to work with and the experiences he has had and shared with those people since he showed up at Barksdale. Second, is seeing and knowing the impact of his hard work is making a difference on a consistent basis.

Hostler was recognized for his efforts during the Bomber Task Force deployment. He distinguished himself by single handedly troubleshooting and repairing a pilot reported discrepancy for faulty exhaust gas temperature indication. As the only guidance and control specialist on his shift, Hostler exceeded the demands of the mission. His display of leadership skills above his rank allowed for continuous mission success during a manning shortfall.

Furthermore, during a discrepancy prior to flight, Hostler pinpointed a faulty engine pressure ratio (EPR) transducer during an aircraft launch. His rapid and decisive response led to the replacement of the EPR transducer in less than an hour.

Hostler is from Altoona, Pennsylvania, and has a half Pitbull, half Black Lab dog named Shai. His hobbies include fitness, gaming, and spending time with and training his dog.

The U.S. Strategic Command BTF missions demonstrate continued U.S. commitment to allies and partners with the BTF deployments in the U.S. Indo Pacific Command area of responsibility and ability of U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command to deliver lethal, ready, long-range strike options to Geographic Combatant Commanders anytime, anywhere.
