Air Force Phillips Research Site Demo Employees

If you are a current Kirtland AFB Lab Demo employee serviced by the Kirtland AFB Civilian Personnel Flight and applying for Lab Demo positions at this location, the existing Promotions and Placements Referral System (PPRS) will no longer be utilized to fill positions from internal sources. All Kirtland AFB Lab Demo employees interested in applying for a current vacancy within Lab Demo must submit an application package to include the following:
  • Cover letter
  • Resume, Optional Application for Federal Employment (OF 612), or Application for Federal Employment (SF 171). If submitting a resume, the following information must be included:
    • Job Information - Announcement number, title, and grade.
    • Personal Information - Full name, complete mailing address, day and evening phone numbers (with area code), and social security number.
    • Education - Colleges / Universities, city and state, majors, type and year of degrees received. If no degree attained, show total credits earned and indicate semester or quarter hours.
    • Work Experience - Job title, duties and accomplishments (include all major tasks, any systems worked on, software programs used, regulations or directives used, special programs managed, etc), employer's name and complete address, supervisor's name and phone number, starting and ending dates (month and year), hours per week, and salary. Prepare a separate entry for each job. For Federal positions, include pay plan, series, and grade for each different grade level and include month and year of each grade. Indicate whether or not your current supervisor may be contacted

  • Most recent Contribution-Based Compensation System (CCS) Assessment

Other Air Force Employees

If you are a current Air Force employee who does not work within Lab Demo at Kirtland AFB (includes Lab Demo employees who are not serviced by the Kirtland AFB Civilian Personnel Flight), the existing Promotions and Placements Referral System (PPRS) will no longer be utilized to fill positions within Lab Demo. Therefore, do not apply for Lab Demo positions through Central Skills Bank registration. All current Air Force employees interested in applying for vacancies within Lab Demo must submit an application package to include the following:

Transfers

Present Federal employees who are serving in the competitive service under a career or career-conditional appointment in one agency are eligible to transfer to a position in the competitive service of another agency. All transfer eligibles interested in applying for a current vacancy within Lab Demo must submit an application package to include the following:

Reinstatements

Prior Federal employees who attained career status on a permanent, competitive appointment have reinstatement eligibility. Prior Federal employees who were on career-conditional appointments, but did not attain career status, are generally eligible for reinstatement within three years of separation. All reinstatement eligibles interested in applying for a current vacancy within Lab Demo must submit an application package to include the following:

Veterans Readjustment Appointments (VRA)

Individuals who served in the military for a period of more than 180 days active duty, all or part of which occurred after August 4, 1964, and were discharged under other than dishonorable conditions may be eligible to apply under the VRA authority. If you served on active duty between August 5, 1964, and May 7, 1975, your eligibility expires either 10 years after the date of your last separation from active duty or until December 31, 1995, whichever is later. If you first entered active duty after May 7, 1975, your eligibility expires either 10 years after the date of your last separation from active duty or until December 31, 1999, whichever is later. This authority only applies to Broadband Level I positions. All VRA eligibles interested in applying for a current vacancy within Lab Demo must submit an application package to include the following:
