COL. GEORGE R. FARFOUR

Col. George R. Farfour is the vice commander of the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. The center is composed of a headquarters staff and four execution directorates: the Air Delivered Capabilities Directorate, the Nuclear Technology and Interagency Directorate at Kirtland AFB; the ICBM Systems Directorate at Hill AFB, Utah; and the NC3 Integration Directorate at Hanscom AFB, Mass. The AFNWC comprises over 1,000 Airmen, Civilians, and Contractors at 14 locations in the United States and Europe and is responsible for the entire scope of nuclear weapons acquisition and sustainment functions.

Colonel Farfour was commissioned in May 1989 as a distinguished graduate of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at East Carolina University. He has served as an ICBM Officer for most of his career, with extensive experience in nuclear planning; national nuclear policy; and conventional, nuclear, and space arms control policy. He has also served in a variety of staff positions including at U.S. Strategic Command, on the Air Staff at the Pentagon, and as Deputy Director of the Air Force Space Command Commander's Action Group. He served as the Chief, Nuclear Operations and Integration Division, Assistant Chief of Staff for Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration, Headquarters, United States Air Force. Col Farfour also served as the Vice Commander, 90th Missile Wing, Francis E. Warren AFB, Wyo. Most recently, he served as the director, Task Force 214, Francis E. Warren AFB, Wyo.
